Located south of the larger, more famous Whitefish Mountain (also a possible stop on this tour), Blacktail offers a laidback atmosphere.  The triple chair and 2 double chairs service a variety of terrain and great views of Flathead Lake.  One of Montana’s newest ski areas, began as a vision as a local’s hill, so the locals had an option from the more expensive destination resort of Whitefish MTN.  A nice low-key vibe and prices, Blacktail is living up to it’s founding roots.
