5 days, 07/23 – 07/27
This Yellowstone trip is long in miles, but easy for terrain. Of all of our treks, this one travels through some of the most heavily used bear habitat in the park, but after all, we are trekking through the Hayden Valley to Pelican Valley corridor. As always, we will be on our “A game” for bears and other wildlife. This is not a heavily used area by other backpackers, but offers great backcountry thermal areas, and wildlife habitat. This trip literally travels through the heart of Yellowstone, and does have some long days.
This trip is rated moderate to strenuous due to long distances some days, although most of the miles are level hiking. Be prepared for fords. This trip begins forested, and opens up into great wildlife habitat. We do not allow fishing on this trek due to the extremely high number of grizzly bears in the area.
